                A M E N D E D  A G E N D A

The following bills have been added to the agenda:

HB 163     RELATING TO JURORS                            JDC, WAM
HD2        Increases the fee for jury duty service from $30 to
(SB 899    $40 per day.  Increases the mileage fee jury duty
SD1)       service from 33 cents to 37 cents per mile.
        Appropriates funds. 

HB 83      RELATING TO COURTS                                 JDC
HD1        Repeals the exemption from jury service for attorneys,
(SB 899)   heads of executive departments, elected officials,
        judges, ministers or priests, practicing physicans or
        denstists, and active members of the armed forces,
        police, and fire department.


        DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW, IF TIME PERMITS.


Note: Some House bills on this notice have a Senate companion
with substantially similar language, noted in parenthesis, which
were previously heard by this committee.  Written testimony for
House companion bills are encouraged, however, testifiers are
requested to focus oral testimony on comments not previously
submitted, or stand on their written testimony.

Persons wishing to testify should submit 25 copies of their
testimony to the committee clerk, Room 227, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less

 
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.

Public Folder.  A folder labeled "Public Folder" containing the
measures and testimonies for the hearing will be available for
shared use by members of the public.
