HB 1027    RELATING TO TAX EXEMPTIONS FOR AVIATION TRAINING
        FACILITIES                                TRN/EDB,FIN
        Encourages the development of aviation training
        facilities in the State.

FOR EDB/TRN
HB 1028    RELATING TO ALOHA TOWER DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
                                                  EDB/TRN,FIN
        Removes the restriction placed on the corporation's
        ability to develop Irwin Park and to appropriate money
        to acquire the reversionary interest contained in the
        deed of Helene Irwin Fagan.  Affords its executive
        officer the flexibility in appointing personnel
        consistent with other redevelopment authorities.

HB 1361    RELATING TO CHARTER TOUR OPERATORS    EDB/TRN,CPC,FIN
        Requires charter tour operators to be licensed and to
        provide evidence of their financial ability to perform
        their contractual obligations, together with periodic
        financial reporting which provides assurances of
        compliance with the client trust account requirements.
        Provides for greater regulatory supervision of charter
        tour operators by the State, including enhanced
        authority to conduct audits and examinations of
        charter tour operators.

HB 213     RELATING TO GENERAL CASUALTY INSURANCE        TRN,CPC
        Prevents contracts covering defects in material and
        work, specifically those which may include towing and
        substitute transportation, in exchange for a
        separately stated charge where it is incidental to the
        business of selling or leasing motor vehicles, from
        being deemed as insurance.

 
HB 976     RELATING TO MOTORCYCLE INSURANCE              TRN,CPC
        Reduces the number of uninsured motorcycle and motor
        scooter riders, and to allows riders with a valid
        learner's permit who enroll in a certified Motorcycle
        Safety Foundation education course to qualify for
        insurance coverage.

HB 1034    RELATING TO MOTOR CARRIERS                    TRN,CPC
        Eliminates the requirement that every application for
        temporary authority be made in writing and verified by
        oath.  Also eliminates the need for other information
        that is to accompany the written application.

HB 1214    RELATING TO COMMERCIAL DRIVER LICENSING   TRN,JHA,FIN
        Allows examiners of commercial drivers to waive the
        knowledge and skills test for persons meeting certain
        minimum requirements, but requires persons desiring to
        retain their hazardous materials endorsement to pass
        the knowledge test for it.

HB 1210    RELATING TO MOTOR VEHICLE DRIVER LICENSING    TRN,JHA
        Authorizes the Director of Transportation to make
        driver's license reciprocity agreements with foreign
        jurisdictions to exempt foreign drivers from the
        Hawaii road test requirement if they meet minimum
        criteria.

HB 1212    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR HONOLULU HARBOR, OAHU
                                                      TRN,FIN
        Makes an appropriation out of the revenues of the
        harbor special funds for the planning, design, and
        construction of a cruise ship passenger terminal at
        Pier 2, Honolulu Harbor.
