                   A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

RELATING TO INTOXICATING LIQUOR.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  Section 281-101.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is
 
 2 amended by amending subsection (d) to read as follows:
 
 3      "(d)  Any person under age eighteen who violates this
 
 4 section shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the family court.
 
 5 If the family court determines that the person violated this
 
 6 section, the person's driver's license shall be suspended for six
 
 7 months and the person shall perform twenty hours of community
 
 8 service.  Any person age eighteen or older who violates
 
 9 subsection (a) shall be guilty of a misdemeanor.  Any person age
 
10 eighteen to twenty-one who violates subsections (b) or (c) shall
 
11 be guilty of a petty misdemeanor."
 
12      SECTION 2.  This Act does not affect rights and duties that
 
13 matured, penalties that were incurred, and proceedings that were
 
14 begun, before its effective date.
 
15      SECTION 3.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed.
 
16 New statutory material is underscored.
 
17      SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
