                     A  BILL  FOR  AN  ACT

AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS AND MAKING
   AN APPROPRIATION FOR KAIMUKI HIGH SCHOOL.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 1      SECTION 1.  The director of finance is authorized to issue
 
 2 general obligation bonds in the sum of $2,000,000, or so much
 
 3 thereof as may be necessary, and the same sum, or so much thereof
 
 4 as may be necessary, is appropriated for fiscal year 1999-2000,
 
 5 for the following capital improvement projects:
 
 6      (1)  Relocating air conditioning units from the 
 
 7           roof of the library to a ground unit         $1,000,000
 
 8      (2)  Building a parking lot for students 
 
 9           and community                                $  500,000
 
10      (3)  Renovating Buildings G (Science) and 
 
11           F (Family and Consumer Science)              $  500,000
 
12      The sums set forth shall be expended by the department of
 
13 accounting and general services for the purpose of this Act.
 
14      SECTION 2.  The appropriation made for the capital
 
15 improvement projects authorized in this Act shall not lapse at
 
16 the end of the fiscal year for which the appropriation is made;
 
17 provided that all moneys from the appropriation unencumbered as
 
18 of June 30, 2002, shall lapse as of that date.
