SB 2866 SD1  RELATING TO PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.                     HHS, CPN
          Liberalizes regulatory controls and restrictions on the
          distribution of medical oxygen and the dispensing of
          prescription drugs (non-controlled substance drugs).  (SD1)
          (MIZUGUCHI (BR))

SB 2826   RELATING TO EXEMPTIONS FOR PSYCHOLOGIST LICENSURE.       CPN
          Clarifies that licenses from other professions are able to
          perform "psychotherapy" if the service is within the scope of
          practice defined in the professions' laws or rules.  (MIZUGUCHI
          (BR))

SB 2827   RELATING TO CHIROPRACTIC LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS.         CPN
          Revises licensure and examination processes for chiropractors.

SB 2829   RELATING TO RETURN OF PRESCRIPTION DRUGS.                CPN
          Allows long-term care facilities or supervised living groups to
          return prescription drugs previously dispensed or distributed
          by a pharmacist, to be redispensed or redistributed by the
          pharmacist.  (MIZUGUCHI (BR))

SB 3053 SD1  RELATING TO INSURANCE.                              HHS, CPN
          Allows physicians to provide substance abuse treatment for
          insurance coverage purposes. (SD1)  (LEVIN)

SB 2655 SD1  RELATING TO HEALTH.                                 HHS, CPN
          Establishes an expedited process for an appeal of a managed
          care plan.  Extends the time period to request an external

 
          review of a managed care plan's final determination.
          Establishes standards for determining whether a health
          intervention is a medical necessity. (SD1)  (CHUN

SB 2657 SD1  RELATING TO HEALTH                                  HHS, CPN
          Requires health insurance coverage under accident and sickness
          individual policies and group health maintenance organization
          and mutual benefit society contracts to include coverage for
          diabetes outpatient self-management training and education and
          equipment and supplies.  (SD1)  (CHUN OAKLAND/KANNO; Nakata)

testimony to the committee clerk, Room 202, State Capitol, 24 hours prior to
the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to
the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free
for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing,
please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time
of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal.

participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter,
wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled), please
contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements
can be made.
