        DECISION MAKING ON THE FOLLOWING MEASURES
             (Deferred from March 31, 2000)

H.B. 1883 RELATING TO RENEWABLE ENERGY RESOURCES            CPN, WAM
HD2, SD1  Requires qualified electric utility companies to implement
         renewables portfolio standards which requires these utilities
         to possess a minimum percentage of renewable energy resources
         within their overall resource portfolio.  Provides for the
         issuance of renewable energy credits to renewable energy
         generators. 

H.B. 2531 MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE         HHS, WAM
HD1, SD1  HAWAII HEALTH SYSTEMS CORPORATION
         Appropriates emergency funding to assist the Hawaii Health
         Systems Corporation.

H.B. 2537 MAKING AN EMERGENCY APPROPRIATION FOR THE          WAM/HHS
         ADULT MENTAL HEALTH DIVISION
         Appropriates emergency funds for services provided by the
         Adult Mental Health Division.

H.B. 839  RELATING TO THE GENERAL EXCISE TAXATION OF    LRE/TIA, WAM
HD1      WASTEWATER LEASING
         Exempts from the general excise tax amounts received by an
         operator of a wastewater treatment plant from any county.  

H.B. 2154 RELATING TO COMMUNITY SERVICES                LRE/HHS, WAM
HD2, SD1  Transfers from Office of Community Services to Department of
         Human Services funding for programs for immigrants, refugees,
         and welfare-to-work.  

H.B. 2405 RELATING TO PESTICIDES                        LRE/ECD, WAM
HD2      Defines "integrated pest management".  Amends the definition
         of "pest" under the Hawaii pesticides law.  Allows the
         pesticide use revolving fund (fund) to be used for the
         development of integrated pest management strategies and
         personnel costs.  Removes the ceiling on the balance of the
         fund and allows the  fund to retain all moneys.  Clarifies
         that penalties imposed by the board of agriculture are
         administrative penalties and provides a procedure to recover
         administrative penalties imposed.  Deletes pesticides that
         are no longer registered for use from coloration
         requirements.  Exempts pesticides deregulated by the U.S.
         Environmental Protection Agency from regulation in Hawaii.  


 


 
H.B. 2418   RELATING TO CERTIFICATES OF IDENTIFICATION        JDC, WAM
SD1      Proposes to change the expiration date of State
         identification cards to coincide with a person's birthdate,
         and to allow renewal by mail for persons 65 years and older.  

H.B. 2643 RELATING TO ABANDONED MOTOR VEHICLES              TIA, WAM
HD1, SD1  Increases the maximum amount of the additional fee for motor
         vehicle certificates of registration other than U-drive
         vehicles, to be used for the disposal of abandoned or
         derelict  vehicles.
