HB 1275    RELATING TO HOSPITAL VIOLENCE                 HLT, JHA, FIN
(HSCR 105) Requires all hospitals to have security plans.  Contains
        criteria.  Requires reporting of any criminal assault on
        on-duty hospital personnel within 48 hours.

HB 1836    REPEALING SECTION 327E-13(G), HAWAII REVISED STATUTES   JHA
        Removes the pregnant women exemption from the Uniform
        Health Care Decisions Act.

HB 1837    RELATING TO ABUSE OF FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBERS        JHA
        Creates three new classes of offenses for abuse of family
        or e the person shall serve a minimum household members;
        authorizes police to order person to leave premises if
        officer has reasonable grounds to believe infliction of
        abuse is imminent; repeals current law on abuse of family
        or household members, section 709-906, HRS.

HB 1838    RELATING TO DOMESTIC ABUSE PROTECTIVE ORDERS            JHA
        Amends definition of "family or household members" to
        include tion 328L-3; persons in dating relationships;
        defines "dating relationships"; extends effective time of
        TROs to 180 days; requires courts to issue protective
        orders for minimum period of 5 years; authorizes longer
        extension period for protective orders.

HB 1840    RELATING TO RIGHTS OF VICTIMS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE      JHA

 
        Establishes domestic violence victim's right to be informed
        of offender's probation violation.

HB 1841    RELATING TO PROBATION                                   JHA
        Authorizes probation officers to inform domestic violence
        victims, their parents, or immediate family when defendant
        violates probation or when probation officers have
        information relating to victim's safety and welfare.

HB 1842    RELATING TO FIREARMS                                    JHA
        Repeals good cause exemption for possession of firearms by
        a person who is the subject of a restraining order. 

HB 1843    RELATING TO DOMESTIC VIOLENCE                           JHA
        Extends from 24 to 48 hours the time in which a police
        officer may order a person to leave the premises of a
        domestic violence incident.  Allows for a person arrested
        for domestic violence to be held after posting a bail bond
        for up to 48 hours if certain conditions are met.

HB 1845    RELATING TO CRIME                                       JHA
        Establishes interference with the reporting of an emergency
        or crime as a petty misdemeanor.

HB 2297    RELATING TO FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBER ABUSE            JHA
        Clarifies that the repeat offender provision for the
        offense of abuse of family or household member applies to
        successive convictions, rather than commission of
        successive violations of the law.
