        Requires counties to provide same municipal services
        to condominium and cooperative housing corporation
        communities as those already provided to residents of
        residential property. Appropriates $ for county

SB 2132    RELATING TO THE HAWAII PROCUREMENT CODE    TIA/GOH,WAM
        Defines "state contractor," "state subcontractor," and
        "state resident"; increases the bid preference to
        state residents. (Kawamoto)

SCR 18     URGING MILITARY AND FEDERAL AGENCIES TO    TIA/GOH,WAM
        HONOR THE DEFINITION OF STATE RESIDENT FOR CONTRACTS

SB 2015    RELATING TO SURVEYING                      TIA/GOH,WAM
        Transfers all rights, powers, functions, duties,
        appropriations, records, and equipment of the survey
        division and the cadastral engineering section in the

 
        department of transportation, highways division (TRN
        595) to the land survey division of the department of
        accounting and general services (AGS 211). (Tam)

        COUNTY PUBLIC WORKS CONTRACTS
        Authorizes the counties to give preference to county
        taxpayers on county public works contracts.

        Appropriates funds to address the traffic impact
        caused by automobile congestion in neighborhoods and
        to install traffic calming measures. (Tam)

        Requires enclosure of and restricts noise levels
        within parking structures located near residentially-
        zoned areas. (Tam)

SB 3148    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR LANDSCAPE          TIA,WAM
        IMPROVEMENTS TO KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY
        Appropriates $2,225,000 in state highway fund moneys
        for landscape improvements to Kamehameha Highway (from
        Honomanu Street to the vicinity of the Arizona
        Memorial. (Sakamoto, Kawamoto)

SB 2991    RELATING TO TRANSPORTATION                     TIA,WAM
        Ensuring that state road and bridge projects
        adequately meet out transportation needs, exist in
        harmony with their surroundings, and add lasting value

SB 3201    RELATING TO A SCENIC HIGHWAYS SYSTEM           TIA,WAM
        Establishes a Scenic Highways System. (Levin)

        Requires all tow trucks to have special license plates
        to ensure that they meet the same standards for
        insurance and registration as commercial fleet
        vehicles. (Kawamoto)

SB 3017    RELATING TO FIREARMS                           TIA,JDC
        Establishes firearms owner identification card for
        acquiring firearms. Establishes an instant electronic

 
 
 
        criminal background checking system for conducting
        firearms firearms background checks. (Buen, Matsuura)

SB 3112    RELATING TO FIREARMS                           TIA,JDC
        Exempts law enforcement officers and their suppliers
        from ban on electric guns. Redefines electric guns to
        include electric livestock prods and to exclude
        defibrillators. (Mizuguchi(BR))

SB 3200    MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE AIR CARGO      TIA,WAM
        TEST PROGRAM
        Makes an appropriation for the continuation of the
        department of transportation, airport division's air
        cargo test program. (Inouye, Kawamoto)

SB 2424    RELATING TO THE PUBLIC UTILITIES COMMISSION    TIA,CPN
        Makes it unlawful for common or contract carriers by
        motor vehicle to stop or park vehicles equal to or
        greater than    feet in length,    feet in width, and
        with a turning radius equal to or greater than   feet
        on certain roads. Exempts vehicles used to transport
        disabled persons and cases of medical emergency.

testimony to the committee clerk, Room 205, State Capitol, 24
hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less
than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at
586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at
least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  When faxing, please
indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and
time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for
submittal.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services
to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language
interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for
the disabled), please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior
to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
