A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO CULTURE AND THE ARTS FOUNDATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. The legislature finds that over the years chamber music has brought culture, art, and enjoyment to the community of Kailua. However, in recent years, the chamber music program was eliminated in Kailua as a result of funding cuts to the Culture and the Arts Foundation.

The purpose of this Act is to provide funding to restore the chamber music program to the community of Kailua.

SECTION 2. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $1, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, for the restoration of a chamber music program to the community of Kailua.

SECTION 3. The sum appropriated shall be expended by the culture and the arts foundation for the purposes of this Act.

 

 

SECTION 4. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
