A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE HONOLULU SYMPHONY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $500,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2001-2002, and the sum of $400,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2002-2003, for the operating expenses of the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra to restore education programs on the neighbor islands and the Ohana Concert Series on Oahu.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of accounting and general services for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2001.
