RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Encourages/authorizes/establishes a SAT preparation course for elective credit in Hawaii public high schools.

Appropriates funds for a 12-month (year-round) student activities coordinator for each public high school.

relating TO LAVATORIES IN SCHOOLS.

Appropriates funds to the DOE for fiscal year 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 for the improvement and maintenance of student lavatories in all Hawaii public schools.

Appropriates funds to establish and continue the student crimestoppers program in all departmental school districts.

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Establishes the Hawaii state student council, with student representatives from each departmental school district. Requires the council to conduct an annual conference of secondary school students. Requires the council to determine whether to select the student member of the BOE or to run an election.

RELATING TO EDUCATION.

Description: (Constitutional Amendment) Proposes to make the student member of the Board of Education a voting member, with the exception that the student member shall not be permitted to vote upon matters regarding personnel.
