Clarifies University of Hawaii's legal counsel's role in various legal issues and proceedings. (SD1)

RELATING TO FAMILY SUPPORT CENTERS.

Establishes the family center project under the department of human services (DHS) from 7/1/2001 to 6/30/2006, to coordinate the provision of care services to families at community-based centers and develop each community's capacity to identify and resolve its problems. Requires the DHS to monitor and evaluate the project and appropriates funds for a family center site. (SD1)

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES.

Allows the department of human services to license home and community-based case management agencies. Also include various appropriations relating to human services.(SD1)

RELATING TO THE HIGH TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION.

Repeals part III of chapter 206M, HRS, reenacts the same provisions, and makes this Act retroactive to April 28, 2000, the day after the enactment of Act 72, SLH 2000. Clarifies that the governor's and legislature's approval are required before the issuance of any special facility revenue bonds. Appropriates funds for technology marketing and promotion, biotechnology development, and high technology capital improvements. (SD1)

RELATING TO INSURANCE.

Increases the salary of the chief deputy insurance commissioner at not more than ninety-five per cent of the insurance commissioner's maximum salary, subject to merit increases authorized by law. (SD1)
