RELATING TO PUBLIC NOTICE REQUIREMENTS FOR PUBLIC LAND DISPOSITIONS.

Changes the public notice requirements for auctions, drawings, direct negotiation, exchanges, quitclaims, submerged and reclaimed lands, reservations, and easements from three successive weeks in both a statewide and county publication to once or twice in either a statewide or local publication.

RELATING TO PENALTIES FOR NATURAL RESOURCES.

Establishes administrative penalties for violations of statutory provisions on rules relating to natural area reserves.

SB 1161

RELATING TO THE DISPOSITION OF ABANDONED OR SEIZED PROPERTY ON PUBLIC LANDS.

Establishes minimum amounts for which personal and public notice and public auction are required for property abandoned or seized on public lands. Clarifies that the amounts due the State by the owner of abandoned or seized property shall be offset first in any sale of property or in any judgement against the State.

RELATING TO THE FOREST STEWARDSHIP PROGRAM.

Authorizes the use of a portion of the Forest Stewardship Fund to support administration of the Forest Stewardship program.

Revises land recording requirements to facilitate the recording process in the Bureau of Conveyances.
