Clarifies that section 171-13, will be reinstated in its original form at the sunset of Act 15, Third Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2001, which authorizes the Governor to declare an economic emergency from September 11, 2001 to April 30, 2002, to suspend any statute, rule or order and adopt rules to implement certain measures, and to suspend, waive, or defer any contract obligations under certain conditions.

A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

RELATING TO SECTION 13 OF ACT 15, THIRD SPECIAL SESSION LAWS OF HAWAII 2001.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. Act 15, Third Special Session Laws of Hawaii 2001, is amended by amending section 13 to read as follows:

"SECTION 13. This Act shall take effect upon its approval and shall be repealed on April 30, 2002[.]; provided that section 171-13, Hawaii Revised Statutes, shall be reenacted in the form in which it read on the day before the approval of this Act."

SECTION 2. Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken. New statutory material is underscored.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on April 29, 2002.
