RELATING TO THE CIGARETTE AND TOBACCO TAX.

Increases the excise tax paid by wholesalers or dealers on cigarettes and tobacco products sold or used after June 30, 2002, to 6 cents per cigarette, and to forty percent of the wholesale price of the tobacco product. (HB2741 HD2)

RELATING TO HEALTH.

Determines how moneys in the hospital and medical facilities special fund are expended. Limits amount to be spent on education. Returns amounts in excess of $    to general fund annually. Clarifies that DOH administrative penalties are to be deposited to the general fund.

RELATING TO DEATH WITH DIGNITY.

Allows a terminally ill, competent adult to obtain a prescription for medication to end his or her life in a humane and dignified manner through a self-administered oral lethal dose. Prohibits mercy killings, lethal injections, and active euthanasia. (HB2487 HD1)
