A BILL FOR AN ACT
relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the forty-fifth representative district.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2003-2004.
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Waianae High School.
Increase the size of the cafeteria.

B. Waianae High School.
Modify bathrooms and health room for
compliance with Americans with
Disabilities Act requirements.

C. Waianae High School.
Repair water fountains.

Air condition the school.

E. Waianae Intermediate School.
Upgrade building facilities for electrical

Widen all school sidewalks to accommodate
two direction passing of two classes and
wheelchairs.

Remove exterior drinking fountain and
install one multi-handwash basin station

Q. Trade school on the Waianae coast.
Design and construction of a trade school
which shall provide financial aid services,
similar to those provided at other educational
institutions such as the University of Hawaii.
The trade school may also be funded with private
funds.

S. Waianae Coast Comprehensive Health Center.
Expansion of medical facility by 20,000
square feet for primary care services,
such as pediatric care, specialty services,

funds for federal and private sector funding.

Emergency preparedness safety and security
improvements.

Purchase of two patrol golf carts $ 16,000

Construction of mail receiving station $ 25,000
Installation of hazardous materials

Installation of ventilator $ 7,000
Construction of fire break road $ 65,000

2. To be expended by the department of transportation:
A. Jade Street and Lahaina Street intersection traffic improvements.
Construction of a four-way stop at
the intersection of Jade Street and
Lahaina Street.

B. Ala Hema Street and Farrington Highway
intersection traffic improvements.
Installation of a traffic light and crosswalk
at the intersection of Ala Hema Street and
Farrington Highway.

C. 84-390 Jade Street, fronting Leeward Integrated Health Services, Inc.
Construction of traffic lights and
bus stop.
Design and construction $ 1

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2003.
