RELATING TO PARKING FOR DISABLED PERSONS.

Prohibits parking in disabled parking access aisles; authorizes law enforcement and commissioned volunteers to enforce disabled parking laws on private property; allows citations refused by disabled parking violators to be mailed to the violator's address; authorizes the disability and communication access board to adopt rules for revocation, decertification of placards and licenses, and establishment of placard fees; provides a fine for disabled persons failing to display the validly issued placard or special plate while parking in disabled parking. RELATING TO CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES.

Amends the controlled substances schedule by adding or deleting items. And clarifies provision relating to the issuance of prescriptive drugs. (HB1217 HD1)

Persons wishing to testify should submit 24 copies of their testimony to the committee clerk, Room 220, State Capitol during regular business hours, or outside the Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Office, Room 015, State Capitol for all other times, 24 hours prior to the hearing. Testimony may also be faxed if less than 5 pages in length, to the Senate Sergeant-At-Arms Office at 586-6659 or 1-800-586-6659 (toll free for neighbor islands), at least 24 hours prior to the hearing. When faxing, please indicate to whom the testimony is being submitted, the date and time of the hearing, and the required number of copies needed for submittal. The Committee will also accept Email testimony received 24 hours prior to the hearing. Email testimony may be submitted to [email protected] in a Word attachment.

If you require special assistance or auxiliary aids or services to participate in the public hearing process (i.e., sign language interpreter, wheelchair accessibility, or parking designated for the disabled) please contact the committee clerk 24 hours prior to the hearing so arrangements can be made.
