HIGH TECHNOLOGY AND VENTURE CAPITAL

The purpose of this informational briefing is to provide an overview of venture capital investment, particularly in Hawaii’s high technology areas. Specialists in their respective fields from the State, private firms and the University of Hawaii will touch on some key areas such as investment capital, entrepreneurship, the State’s role and Act 221 in Hawaii.

Bill Richardson, General Partner, HMS Hawaii Management

Rob Robinson, Weinman Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship and E-Business, and Executive Director of the Pacific Asian Center for Entrepreneurship and E-Business

Although no testimony will be accepted for this briefing, there will be time for questions and answers between committee members and panel participants. The briefing will be televised by PAR/Legislative Broadcast for viewing on ‘Olelo.
