A BRIEFING TO EXAMINE THE BUDGET SHORTFALLS AND HOW THEY AFFECT HEALTH, HUMAN SERVICES AND HOUSING AND LABOR PROGRAMS:

This informational briefing will include, but not limited to, the following subjects:

1) PURPOSE OF THE BRIEFING: By Committee Chairs. Concerns related to proposed budget cuts and funding shortfalls in the proposed Biennium Budget.

2) COMMUNITY PERSPECTIVE: Representatives from the Na Keiki Law Center, the Poison Center, the Primary Care Association, Institute for Human Services, Substance Abuse Treatment, Intervention, Prevention and the growing number of uninsured for health care; and

3) HOW DO WE RESPOND? A question from the Committees and responses from the Directors or their representatives of the Department of Health, Department of Human Services and Office of Community Services and the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations.
