RELATING TO THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Establishes a student Scholarship and Assistance Special Fund within UH. Appropriates $20,000,000 from general revenues and places it in the fund for FY 2004-2005. Appropriates $20,000,000 out of the fund for FY 2004-2005 to be used for scholarship assistance. (SD1)

RELATING TO WORKERS' COMPENSATION.

Authorize the recovery of attorney's fees and costs by any person who successfully defends any charge of workers' compensation insurance fraud against the person who initiates and prosecutes the action. Authorizes the Insurance Fraud Investigations Branch, Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs to initiate investigations, prosecutions, and disciplinary actions relating to workers' compensation fraud, including workers' compensation fraud related to self-insured employers. MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE PURCHASE OF LAND IN PUPUKEA-PAUMALU, OAHU.

Appropriates funds to purchase 1,129 acres in the Puukea-Paumalu area on Oahu. (HB2759 HD1)
