A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE THE NUMBER OF AGRICULTURE INSPECTORS TO STOP THE SPREAD OF INVASIVE SPECIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

SECTION 1. There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $ , or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2005-2006, and the same sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2006-2007, for            permanent department of agriculture inspector positions (FTE) to assist in the inspection of the intra-state and inter-state movement of agriculture related products and produce to control or eliminate the spread of invasive species.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of agriculture for the purposes of this Act.

SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2005.
