Measure Title: RELATING TO TRAFFIC INFRACTIONS.
Report Title: Traffic Infractions; Court Adjudication; Notice
Description: Eliminates inconsistencies in adjudication of traffic offenses. Clarifies application of section 291D-3(b) (applicability of administrative adjudication law) by providing that infractions not resulting in a criminal charge do not require court adjudication. Extends the time for answering a notice of traffic infraction from 15 to 21 days. Clarifies that no penal sanction that includes imprisonment applies to a traffic infraction. Requires a person answering a notice of traffic infraction to request a hearing if the person wishes to personally appear before a judge. Allows credit and debit card payments over the Internet or by telephone for admitted traffic infractions. (SB621 HD1)
