A BILL FOR AN ACT


 

 

RELATING TO PUBLIC SAFETY.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to ensure that firefighters and other emergency first responders are fully prepared to respond to natural and human-induced disasters, including acts of terrorism, by appropriating funds to plan a Hawaii state fire/emergency training facility.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $150,000, or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2007-2008, to conduct a feasibility study for a Hawaii state fire/emergency training facility.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of labor and industrial relations for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2007.
