NOTICE OF INFORMATIONAL BRIEFING

The purpose of this informational briefing is to discuss ways to strengthen partnerships among federal, state, and private initiatives to reduce the impact of domestic violence and drug abuse in Hawaii.  The briefing will focus on building strategies to empower our communities.  Family services will also be discussed, as well as Health Start Programs for at-risk families.

 

The following organizations or representatives have been invited to participate:

 

The Director of the Department of Human Services or her designee; and

 

A Representative from the Healthy Start Program; and

 

William Haning, MD, from the University of Hawaii, John A. Burns School of Medicine; and

 

The Honolulu Police Chief or his designee; and

 

The National Methamphetamine Training & Technical Assistance Center

Priscilla Lisicich, Co-Director

Terree Schmidt-Whelan, Co-Director

Ed Gomes, Regional Center Coordinator; and

 

John Neiswender, Chief Financial Officer, Pierce County Alliance (attending only); and

 

Alan Johnson, CEO Hina Mauka; and

 

A Representative from the State Attorney General; and

 

A Representative from the City Prosecutor.

 

No public testimony will be accepted.
