A BILL FOR AN ACT
RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE TWENTY-FIFTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:
SECTION 1. The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2009-2010:
1. To be expended by the department of accounting and general services:
A. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Cliff stabilization - below F bldg.
Structural bolstering to permanently stabilize a fractured and cracked cliff face that supports school buildings.
Design $ 80,000
Construction 750,000
Total funding $ 830,000
B. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
School master plan development.
Following the department of education facilities planning section recommendation that Roosevelt update the school master plan to meet school needs for the next ten years.

C. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Renovation and expansion of gymnasium. Renovation of existing gymnasium to comply with federal Americans with Disabilities Act regulations, improve locker room facilities, upgrade plumbing system, improve seating capacity of the gym, and a variety of essential needs to meet sports program requirements and needs.

D. Roosevelt high school, Oahu
Two hundred (200) stall multi-level parking structure.
To create additional parking for underserved faculty, staff, and students.

Implementation of cafeteria air‑conditioning upgrades.

Construction of a single-story building to serve as a parent and community center for parent meetings, gatherings, and activities.

Construction of new elevator for H bldg. to make science labs and art classrooms available to wheelchair students.

SECTION 2. The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.
SECTION 3. This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2009.
