A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvements pertaining to health.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as may be necessary to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2010-2011:

     1.   To be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation:

     A.   Hilo medical center, Hawaii

          New long-term care facility.         $80,000,000

          Clinical documentation.               $8,000,000

          Air conditioning upgrade.             $6,888,000

          Total funding                        $94,888,000

     B.   Hale Ho'ola Hamakua, Hawaii

          New nurse call system.                  $639,000

          Upgrades to facility, repair and

          repainting of cottages and hospital            

          interior, and air conditioning vent

          replacement.                            $850,000

          Retrocommissioning and energy audit.     $75,000

          Total funding                         $1,564,000

     C.   Kau hospital, Hawaii                                           Plumbing upgrade.                          $1,978,000

          Reroof hospital.                        $847,000

          Hospital renovations.                 $1,684,000

          Total funding                         $4,509,000

     D.   Kona community hospital, Hawaii

          Emergency room renovation.            $8,177,000

          Complete fire alarm upgrade.          $2,000,000

          Air conditioning upgrades, including

          reheating of coils and replacement of

          chill water insulation.               $1,320,000

          Total funding                        $11,497,000

E.   Kohala hospital, Hawaii

Emergency room expansion and

renovation.                           $2,775,000

          Parking lot and driveway repavement.    $350,000

          Master plan.                            $500,000

          Total funding                         $3,625,000

F.   Maui memorial medical center, Maui

          Courtyard buildout.                   $3,000,000

          IT infrastructure – planning.         $1,200,000
          Parking structure.                   $25,000,000

          Total funding                        $29,200,000

G.   Lanai community hospital, Maui

          New photovoltaic system.                $700,000

          Plumbing repairs.                     $1,582,000

          Fire suppression and exhaust,

          ventilation system.                     $240,000

          Total funding                         $2,522,000

H.   Kula hospital, Maui

Repairs to facility.                  $1,440,000

Steamline and equipment replacement.  $1,870,000

New nurse call system.                $1,514,000

Total funding                         $4,824,000

I.   West Kauai medical center, Kauai

Reroof ancillary wing, medical office

building, and housing units.          $1,037,000

Renovations to ED, recovery,

operating room, and entrances.       $14,176,000

Retrocommissioning and energy audit.    $150,000

Total funding                        $15,363,000

J.   Samuel Mahelona memorial hospital, Kauai

Retrocommissioning and energy audit.    $150,000

Reroof buildings.                     $3,986,000

Renovation of patient bathrooms and

plumbing upgrades.                    $2,720,000

Total funding                         $6,856,000

K.   Leahi hospital, Oahu

Renovations to patient rooms.           $200,000

Security renovations for long-term

care units.                             $300,000

Demolish vacant cottages, boiler,

piping, fuel tank, and spiral

staircase.                              $650,000

Total funding                         $1,150,000

L.   Maluhia hospital, Oahu      

Renovations to patient rooms.           $200,000

Electrical system upgrades to tie

dietary in with emergency generator.    $819,000

Dietary plumbing and floor upgrades.  $1,344,000

Total funding                         $2,363,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated in section 1 of this Act shall be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation for the purposes of this Act.

 

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2010.
