A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to sanitation.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 322, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to part I to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§322-    Definitions.  As used in this part, unless the context requires otherwise:

     "Nuisance" includes the possession of ten or more pet animals by any person, where the excrement generated by the pet animals is allowed to accumulate for over seven days without proper disposal.

     "Pet animal" means a dog, cat, domesticated rabbit, guinea pig, domesticated pig, or caged birds (passeriformes, piciformes, and psittaciformes only) so long as not bred for consumption."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
