A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO ELECTED public officers.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 11, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§11-    Mandatory service of entire elected term.  Any elected public officer of the State or county shall serve the entire term of the office for which the person was elected, subject to the person's death or debilitating physical or psychological incapacity."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
