A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO POWER OF ATTORNEY.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 551D, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§551D-     Notice of designation and subsequent acts.  A designated attorney-in-fact who is a child of the principal shall provide:

     (1)  A written copy of the executed power of attorney; and

     (2)  Notice of any acts taken pursuant to the power of attorney;

to any other child of the principal who is not designated as an attorney-in-fact of the principal."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
