A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the fifth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the capital improvement project listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal years 2011-2012 and 2012-2013.

      1.  To be expended by the department of education:

           A. Volcano School of Arts & Sciences, Hawaii

               Relocation of Volcano School of Arts & Sciences from rented land to Keakealani School in Volcano Village on the island of Hawaii.  Construction of seven new structures utilizing sustainable construction and operations to build an energy self-sufficient campus.

                                  FY 2011-12    FY 2012-13

          Plans                   $  308,950

          Design                     308,950

          Construction             3,707,400    $2,471,600

              Total funding      $4,325,300    $2,471,600

      2.  To be expended by the Hawaii health systems corporation:

           A. Kona Community Hospital, Hawaii

              Maintenance of existing facilities and energy efficiency upgrades.

                                  FY 2011-12    FY 2012-13

              Total funding      $5,050,000    $1,645,000

           B. Kohala Hospital, Hawaii

              Maintenance of existing facilities.

                                  FY 2011-12    FY 2012-13

              Total funding      $3,355,000    $475,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the capital project set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
