A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Making an appropriation for the hawaii housing finance and development corporation to examine how the republic of singapore solved its housing crisis.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $      or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2011-2012 for the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation to examine how the Republic of Singapore, with a greater number of people and a smaller land base than Hawaii, solved its housing crisis.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the Hawaii housing finance and development corporation for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 2.  The Hawaii housing finance and development corporation shall submit a report that includes its findings and recommendations to the legislature not less than twenty days prior to the convening of the regular session of 2012.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2011.
