A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO STATE FUNDS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to address state funds by authorizing the transfer of excess moneys in the agricultural loan revolving fund to the pest inspection, quarantine, and eradication fund.  This Act appropriates the transferred moneys for an agricultural program.

     SECTION 2.  The legislature determines that there is in the agricultural loan revolving fund at least $140,000 in excess of the requirements of the fund.  At any time during fiscal year 2012-2013, the director of finance is authorized to transfer from the agricultural loan revolving fund to the pest inspection, quarantine, and eradication fund the sum of $140,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013.

     SECTION 3.  There is appropriated out of the pest inspection, quarantine, and eradication fund the sum of $140,000 or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2012-2013 for a program to control and eradicate the coffee borer beetle, including the destruction of feral coffee trees.

     The sum appropriated shall be expended by the department of agriculture for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 4.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2012.

Description:

Authorizes the transfer during fiscal year 2012-13 of $140,000 from the agricultural loan revolving fund to the pest inspection, quarantine, and eradication fund.  Appropriates $140,000 for a program to control and eradicate the coffee borer beetle. (HD1 Proposed)
