Status

RELATING TO MOBILITY MANAGEMENT.

Establishes a task force on mobility management.  Requires the task force to establish a transportation framework to assist elders and individuals with disabilities with transportation needs in rural communities.  Appropriates funds.

RELATING TO PUBLIC AGENCY MEETINGS.

Requires public notices to provide a contact person, including contact information, to whom requests for accommodations for individuals with disabilities may be made.  Requires notices that are posted electronically to conform to the applicable provisions under the Rehabilitation Act of 1973.

Status

RELATING TO YOUTH.

Requires the office of youth services to coordinate a two-year safe places for youth pilot program, which will coordinate a network of safe places where youth can access safety and obtain advice, guidance, programs, and services.  Establishes the position of safe places for youth program coordinator.  Appropriates funds for the coordinator position and residential options for the pilot program.

RELATING TO HUMAN SERVICES.

Requires child care facilities, family child care homes, group child care centers, group child care homes, and infant and toddler child care centers that care for children one year of age or younger to develop, maintain, and implement safe sleep policies to prevent sudden unexpected infant deaths and sudden infant death syndrome.  Makes certain requirements of operators.

Status

RELATING TO CHILD PROTECTION.

Establishes a preference for allowing a child who has been or is at risk of being abused to remain in a safe family home, and requiring the alleged perpetrator of the abuse to leave the home pursuant to section 709-906, HRS, in certain cases of reported or suspected child abuse or neglect.  Requires the abused child and the alleged perpetrator of the abuse to receive treatment and services as part of the service plan to return a child in foster care back to the family home.  Effective July 1, 2013.

Status

RELATING TO AT-RISK YOUTH.

Establishes an at-risk youth task force to recommend a cost-effective, comprehensive system to address problems relating to at-risk youth and their families.  Requires the at-risk youth task force to submit a report to the legislature.

DECISION MAKING TO FOLLOW

 

Persons wishing to offer comments should submit testimony at least 24 hours prior to the hearing.  Testimony should indicate:

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website after the hearing adjourns.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
