A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to agriculture.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


SECTION 1.  The purpose of this Act is to appropriate funds as a grant-in-aid to the counties of Hawaii and Maui to carry out the intent and purpose of section 205-47, Hawaii Revised Statutes, of identifying and mapping important agricultural lands in each county.

SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $           or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2013-2014 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2014-2015 as a grant-in aid to facilitate the process of identifying and mapping potential important agriculture lands as required by the counties in section 205-47, Hawaii Revised Statutes.

The appropriation shall be as follows:

     (1)  County of Hawaii                  $          

     (2)  County of Maui                    $          

The sums appropriated shall be expended by the respective counties for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2013.
