DECISION MAKING ON THE FOLLOWING MEASURE(S):
RELATING TO THE RETENTION OF BIOLOGICAL EVIDENCE. Amends guidelines and limitations for the post-conviction retention of biological evidence by law enforcement agencies and the courts. Provides procedures for agencies to dispose of retained evidence and for defendants to file objections to proposed disposals.

RELATING TO THE RETENTION OF BIOLOGICAL EVIDENCE. Proposed SD1: Amends guidelines and limitations for the post-conviction retention of biological evidence related to felony cases by various agencies and the courts. Provides procedures for agencies to dispose of certain retained evidence and for defendants to file objections to proposed disposals.

RELATING TO CAREGIVING. Requires hospitals to allow patients the opportunity to designate a caregiver. Requires hospitals to include designated caregiver in patient's medical record, notify caregiver prior to patient's transfer or discharge, consult with caregiver about patient's discharge plan, and instruct designated caregivers in after-care. Effective 7/1/2050. (SD1)
