      Status & Testimony

RELATING TO CAMPAIGN FINANCE.

Requires a corporation to have the approval from the majority of shareholders to make a contribution to any candidate, candidate committee, or noncandidate committee.  Prohibits a corporation from making a contribution if the majority of its shares are owned by persons who are prohibited from makings contributions under state law or taking political positions due to investments with the State or county.  Requires corporations to provide notice within forty-eight hours of the contribution.  Permits voting shareholders who did not approve of the contribution to request a prorated reimbursement of the contribution made by the corporation.

RELATING TO CONDOMINIUM CONVERSIONS.

Requires a condominium hotel developer's public report to disclose past years' general excise taxes and transient accommodations taxes for converted condominium hotels.  Requires that each condominium hotel operator file an annual report with the real estate commission.

RELATING TO THE STATE AFFORDABLE CARE ACT INNOVATION WAIVER.

Provides resources to develop a waiver from certain provisions of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.  Appropriates funds.

RELATING TO THE HAWAII HEALTH CONNECTOR.

Enables the Hawaii health connector to offer large group coverage to insurers.  Requires insurer participation in the connector if an insurer has a share of the small group market in the State that exceeds 20 per cent.  Expands the potential small businesses market in the connector by amending the current definition of "small employer" under section 431:2-201.5, Hawaii Revised Statutes.  Beginning January 1, 2016, ends transitional renewal policies in Hawaii.  Requires health insurers to provide notice to group health plans offering continuation coverage about options to secure affordable coverage under the connector.
