The Committee will meet to reconsider its previous action taken on SB 284, SD1 on February 26, 2015, recommending that the measure be passed unamended. Immediately after reconsideration of its previous action, the Committee will hold a public hearing to receive testimony on the proposed draft of the measure identified below.
RELATING TO THE TRANSIENT ACCOMMODATIONS TAX. Allocates $3,000,000 of transient accommodations tax revenues to the special land and development fund to be expended in accordance with the long-range strategic plan for tourism. Authorizes DLNR to issue $40,000,000 in revenue bonds and to use the proceeds to acquire a conservation easement in Turtle Bay, Oahu. Allocates transient accommodations tax revenues of $3,000,000 annually to the DLNR to pay the debt service on the revenue bonds and ongoing expenses related to the bonds. (SD2 Proposed)
