A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-second representative district.

 

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2016-2017.

     To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Moanalua elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for a restroom facility in the school library.

          Design                                  $100,000

          Construction                            $250,000

          Total funding                           $350,000

     B.   Moanalua middle school, Oahu

          Increasing the existing kindergarten building to meet fire standards for occupancy.

          Plans                                     $1,000

          Land acquisition                          $1,000

          Design                                    $1,000

          Construction                              $1,000

          Equipment                                 $1,000

          Total funding                             $5,000

     C.   Moanalua middle school, Oahu

          Expand and add STEM classrooms to the career technical education building, building F, in order to allow students to design, create, and test twenty-first century inventions.

          Construction                          $4,450,000

          Equipment                               $200,000

          Total funding                         $5,200,000

      D.  Moanalua high school, Oahu

          Construction of performing arts center phase II.    

          Construction                         $10,000,000

          Total funding                        $10,000,000

     E.   Aliamanu elementary school, Oahu

          Design and construction for campus wide heat abatement; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                  $470,000

          Construction                          $4,980,000

          Total funding                         $5,450,000

     F.   Aliamanu elementary school, Oahu

          Design, construction, and equipment for the expansion of the administration building; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Design                                  $400,000

          Construction                          $3,075,000

          Equipment                                $25,000

          Total funding                         $3,500,000

     G.   Aliamanu elementary school, Oahu

          Design, construction, and equipment for the expansion of the library building; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                         $5,000,000

     H.   Salt Lake elementary school, Oahu

          Interior renovation of classroom E0; construction of interior walls in building E to form four individual classrooms; central air conditioning.

          Total funding                         $2,100,000

     I.   Salt Lake elementary school, Oahu

          Construct a student restroom facility at portable 6; project to include one toilet and one sink.

          Design                                  $150,000

          Total funding                         $1,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the department of education for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
