A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

Relating to capital improvement projects for the benefit of the thirty-ninth representative district.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2016-2017:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Ewa elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $2,000,000

     B.   Honowai elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

C.   Honowai elementary school, Oahu

          Design, construction, and equipment for a new classroom building and renovation of relocated facilities; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                   $16,420,000

     D.   Kaleiopuu elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

     E.   Kaleiopuu elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for redesigned parking area.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

     F.   Makakilo elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

     G.   Mauka Lani elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

     H.   Mauka Lani elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction of a handicap ramp for A building.

          Total funding                    $1,045,000

     I.   Mauka Lani elementary school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction of a parking lot.

          Total funding                      $420,000

     J.   Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

      K.  Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Plans, design, construction, and equipment for electrical upgrades; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

      L.  Waipahu high school, Oahu

          Construction and equipment for a classroom building; ground and site improvements; appurtenances.

          Total funding                   $42,000,000

      M.  Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for air conditioning for the entire school.

          Total funding                    $4,000,000

      N.  Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

          New building for digital media, robotics, engineering/electronics, animation, music, and science classroom; ground and site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                   $20,900,000

      O.  Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

          Multipurpose regulation size play courts; site improvements; equipment and appurtenances.

          Total funding                      $300,000

      2.  To be expended by the department of transportation:

      A.  Interstate Route H-1, Kunia/Ewa Interchange, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction to redesign the Kunia interchange.

          Total funding                   $40,000,000

      B.  Interstate Route H-1, Eastbound, Makakilo to Kualakai Parkway, and Kualakai Parkway to Waipahu, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction of shoulder lane.

          Total funding                   $20,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2016.
