A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to education.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Section 302A-401, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by amending subsection (f) to read as follows:

     "(f)  Every student enrolled in a college course pursuant to this section shall remit the lowest appropriate tuition and fees to the college for every college course[.]; provided that unless otherwise approved by the board of regents of the University of Hawaii, the lowest appropriate tuition and fees charged for a college course offered pursuant to this section shall only cover the proportionate instructor or professional costs, as determined by the University of Hawaii, associated with the added enrollment of eligible students and shall not include fees and other costs assigned to full-time, on campus college students."

     SECTION 2.  Statutory material to be repealed is bracketed and stricken.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
