     Your Committees on Legislative Management and Labor & Public Employment, to which was referred H.C.R. No. 149 entitled:

 

"HOUSE CONCURRENT RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND GENERAL SERVICES TO DEDICATE ONE PRIVATE ROOM IN THE HAWAII STATE CAPITOL BUILDING FOR EMPLOYEES AND VISITORS TO BREASTFEED OR EXPRESS MILK,"

 

beg leave to report as follows:

 

     The purpose of this measure is to support mothers who breastfeed their children by requesting the Department of Accounting and General Services to dedicate one private room in the Hawaii State Capitol building for employees and visitors to breastfeed or express milk.  

 

     The Department of Accounting and General Services, Department of Human Services, Planned Parenthood Votes Northwest and Hawaii, American Association of University Women of Hawaii, Hawaii State Democratic Women's Caucus, YWCA Oahu, Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies Coalition, Breastfeeding Hawaii, Oahu County Committee on Legislative Priorities of the Democratic Party of Hawaii, and three concerned individuals supported this measure.

 

     As affirmed by the records of votes of the members of your Committees on Legislative Management and Labor & Public Employment that are attached to this report, your Committees concur with the intent and purpose of H.C.R. No. 149 and recommend that it be referred to your Committee on Finance.
