RELATING TO INDEMNIFICATION OF COUNTY AGENCIES.

Facilitates the process by which the University of Hawaii obtains approval to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless a county agency, its officers, agents, and employees for university purposes and functions on county property.

RELATING TO INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION PROGRAMS.

Appropriates funds for the office of international affairs to fund by grant one or more programs sponsored or organized by the University of Hawaii community colleges or a four-year campus to implement international college experiences for Hawaii students enrolled at a University of Hawaii campus.

Status

RELATING TO ENERGY TRAINING.

Requires UH community colleges to establish energy systems and technology training courses for county officers and employees responsible for permitting, inspecting, licensing, and approving construction projects that contain renewable energy systems and related technology.  Requires the establishment of a committee of industry stakeholders to collaborate with UH community colleges in developing appropriate training courses.  Requires UH community colleges to submit a report to the legislature detailing its progress prior to the convening of the regular session of 2020.  Appropriates funds.

Status

RELATING TO ENERGY AT THE UNIVERSITY OF HAWAII.

Allows the deposit of funds appropriated by the Legislature into the University of Hawaii Green Special Fund (Fund).  Requires legislative approval for all Fund expenditures.  (HB1830 HD1)

·     Testifier's name with position/title and organization;

·     The Committee(s) to which the comments are directed;

·     The date and time of the hearing; and

·     Measure number. 

 

While every effort will be made to incorporate all testimony received, materials received on the day of the hearing or improperly identified or directed, may be distributed to the Committee after the hearing.

WEB:     For testimony less than 20MB in size, transmit from http://www.capitol.hawaii.gov/submittestimony.aspx.

 

Testimony submitted will be placed on the legislative website.  This public posting of testimony on the website should be considered when including personal information in your testimony.
