A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to homelessness.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


SECTION 1.  The department of land and natural resources, in consultation with the department of human services, shall conspicuously post clearly legible signs at each public park or beach within the area of Oahu bounded by Kalaeloa and Makaha that shall display the telephone numbers or hotline numbers of any county or state agency that provides assistance to homeless persons.

     SECTION 2.  There is appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii the sum of $          or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2019-2020 and the same sum or so much thereof as may be necessary for fiscal year 2020-2021 to carry out the purposes of this Act.

     The sums appropriated shall be expended by the department of land and natural resources for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
