A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

relating to court proceedings.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 601, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§601‑    Constitutional and statutory claims; legislature; right of intervention.  The legislature shall have standing to intervene in any court proceeding involving a claim that is based upon a constitutional or statutory provision."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect upon its approval.
