A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE THIRTY-SEVENTH REPRESENTATIVE DISTRICT.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  The following sums, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to finance the projects listed in this Act, are hereby appropriated out of the general revenues of the State of Hawaii for fiscal year 2019-2020:

     1.   To be expended by the department of education:

     A.   Kanoelani elementary school, Oahu

Plans and construction to expand the cafeteria; and ground and site improvements.

     B.   Mililani high school, Oahu

          Plans, design, and construction for a new gymnasium building and to refurbish the current gymnasium into a performing arts facility.

C.   Mililani middle school, Oahu

          Plans, design, construction, and equipment to widen the sidewalks campus-wide; ground and site improvements; and equipment and appurtenances.

     Q.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

Design and construction to complete a new DREAMS building for digital, media, engineering, animation, music, and science classes; and ground and site improvements.

     R.   Waipahu intermediate school, Oahu

Design for the development and improvement of the lower campus.

     2.   To be expended by the university of Hawaii:

     A.   Leeward community college, Oahu

Design and construction for fascia and sidewalk repairs.

          Design                                   $700,000

          Construction                           $7,300,000

          Total funding                          $8,000,000

     SECTION 2.  The sums appropriated for the respective capital projects set forth in section 1 shall be expended by the designated expending agency for the purposes of this Act.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2019.
