A BILL FOR AN ACT

 

 

RELATING TO UNDERGROUND STORAGE TANKS.

 

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF HAWAII:

 


     SECTION 1.  Chapter 342L, Hawaii Revised Statutes, is amended by adding a new section to be appropriately designated and to read as follows:

     "§342L-    Large capacity underground storage tanks prohibited.  Beginning July 1, 2023, the operation of an underground storage tank with a capacity greater than one hundred thousand gallons shall be prohibited."

     SECTION 2.  New statutory material is underscored.

     SECTION 3.  This Act shall take effect on July 1, 2050.

Description:

Beginning July 1, 2023, prohibits the operation of underground storage tanks with a capacity greater than 100,000 gallons.  Effective 7/1/2050.  (SD1)
